Missions

"...You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Missions

Brazos Meadows began as a mission of First Baptist Woodway and we have been "mission minded" since the beginning.  We believe the very reason we exist is to join God on his mission in the world.  We do this by following the model that Jesus spoke of in Acts 1:8, where he said, "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Below you can find more information on these endeavors and how you can participate as we go into the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo Outreach

“How can we pray for you?” That’s the question we have asked over 10,000 people over the years at the HOT Fair...

Each October during the Fair, we rent booth space, with the express purpose of praying for people and telling them the difference Jesus can make in their lives.

With over 225,000 people attending the Fair every year, this is far-and-away our biggest outreach ministry. Our purpose is to serve and bless people by praying for them, giving Bibles when wanted, lending an ear to hurting people, and sharing the Good News of Jesus. In 2017, we had three other churches join us – Maranatha, Mold Breakers Fellowship, and Zion Hill Baptist.

The results were staggering: we prayed with over 3000 people and shared our faith with almost 1000! This year, we’ll join forces with those same churches (one predominately Hispanic and one predominately African-American).

We will also be hosting a worship service with our partner churches again this year (October 7, 2018) at the HOT Fairgrounds. It is life-changing!

#4C1M - Healing Racial Divides

Four pastors in our area have come together to help heal racial division and advance the Kingdom of God...

Mario Sandaval of Maranatha Church (predominately Hispanic), Waylon Sias, Sr. of Zion Hill Baptist (predominately African-American), Tommy Frazier of Mold Breakers Fellowship (predominately Anglo) and our pastor, Billy Edwards, have joined minds and hearts to overcome the racial divide. We call our efforts #4C1M – 4 Churches, 1 Message.

The four pastors have eaten together, fellowshipped together, and prayed together on numerous occasions. The four churches have worshipped together (at the Heart of Texas Fair and on selected Sunday nights several times a year), ministered together (at the HOT Fair and at Toys from the Heart), and swap pulpits regularly. What we have found is that everyone from all churches loves it – they have met new friends and found an appreciation for new ministries. And the worship services are out of this world!

The dates and times we worship and minister together will be posted on our website’s home page. Join us at #4C1M – it will change you!

Hospitality House

Feeding People, Body and Soul, the 4th Saturday of each month BMBC travels to and provides a meal at the Hospitality House...

Located in Gatesville, The Central Texas Hospitality House is a facility where family members who have traveled over 250 miles 1 way can stay at no charge while waiting on their visitation time to see their incarcerated family members. BMBC also provides kindness, fellowship, a little laughter and prayer for the families.

Castleman Creek & Park Hill Elementary Schools

Once a month during the school year BMBC provides a blessing gift for each CCE teacher & staff member, and more...

Castleman Creek Elementary is the school next door, and is a great friend to BMBC.  We appreciate the investment and impact CCE teachers and staff make in the lives of the children in our community. And we're glad to show our support! Our motto is "Shining His Light and Blessing Our Future."

The monthly blessing we give may be something baked, a drink, a small trinket, etc., and each blessing has a bible verse attached. BMBC also provides a luncheon in August of each year welcoming the staff back to work for the year and prays for them and the families and students they will be teaching.  In Aug 2018, we were also able to provide pizza for the families that attended their "Meet The Teacher" night.  At Brazos Meadows, we love our neighbor CCE!

Mission Partners

Brazos prays and gives to several missionaries, churches, and mission agencies each year, in addition to our gifts to the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program.

South Asian Native Missionary Alliance (SANMA)

South Asian Native Missionary Alliance (SANMA) is an organization, based in Dallas, that ministers in India. They provide goats to children so they won't have to work in factories, making money by selling milk and breeding goats. They can produce far more money in far less time than they could in difficult factory work. SANMA also helps pastors in India farm more efficiently, not only making more money, but freeing up time to minister. They also dig water wells in villages.

Deidre Haun Little

Deidre Haun is a former member of Brazos who left everything behind to be a missionary for Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru). She is an extraordinary woman of faith who is working in an extremely difficult environment. She is an evangelist of the first order, and is as fine a discipler as you would meet. We are honored to partner with her as she ministers in an unnamed location.

Jeanne Jester

She works with Pursue Mission international out of Lubbock, TX. She is currently serving in Africa.

Daniel Barnes

Daniel is currently serving with Arc International. He is currently out on mission.
